IPC ODE Championships Results
We had an excellent result at the ODE Championships this year. Everyone who went came home with at least one rosette. Colum McC. our only competitor in the Intermediate section came 3rd in the Dressage on the first day of the Championships. The Juniors competed on the second day. We had six Juniors competing. Our Junior team of Kirsty C., Tabitha A., Jill O'G., and Sarah C. came 6th out of 54 teams!!! Kirsty came 3rd in the Dressage and 2nd overall in her arena. Tabitha came 5th overall in her arena. Gavin S. and Eimear O'B. who competed in the Junior individuals also had a very good day with Gavin placing 3rd in the Dressage and 3rd overall, and Eimear coming 5th in the Dressage and 6th overall. Well done to everyone who competed!
Tetrathlon Results
The Tetrathlon finals were held at Tattersalls, Co. Meath again this year. The first 10 teams place in the Tetrathlon.
We had one senior boy competing in an interclub team. Frazer B. had two excellent days and excelled in all areas helping his team of 3 to place 9th overall.
Our senior girls - Claire McA. and Beverly M. - were teamed up with two girls from the Duhallow branch. They did very well clearing the xc course with just a few time faults, their team placing 10th overall.
Our two junior boys - Cormac M. and Anthony McA. - also had to team up with other clubs. Anthony cleared the xc course with just a few time faults. Despite the team getting an elimination xc, they came 24th on the day.
We had two junior girls teams and an individual - Cliona R. - who teamed up with other clubs. Her team came 39th overall with Cliona having an excellent running result.
Our team of Eimear O'B., Tabitha A., Aisling O'B., and Jill O'G. came a very good 13th out of 47 teams despite having an unlucky elimination xc. Eimear and Jill had outstanding swims and runs, with Aisling also staying under 7 minutes in the running. The two former also cleared the xc course without time faults. Jill came 30th and Eimear 31st overall out of 177 competitors.
Our other team - Kate M., Isabel O'M., Kerry B., and Aine M. - were a bit unlucky getting an elimination xc as well and so came 41st overall. Particular congratulations to Aine who cleared the xc course without time faults and Kerry who had an excellent swim and also a very good run coming 59th individually.
The Tetrathlon involves an incredible amount of training throughout the entire year. It is a serious commitment and everyone who takes on the challenge deserves a medal. Well done to all who competed!
Thanks go to Paula McAuliffe and Catherine O'Brien for coordinating the tetrathlon and a sincere thanks to Mick McCarthy for all the shooting training and help at the competition. Also thanks to the O'Brien family for the venue for the shooting training

At the IPC championships our two RB teams came 2nd (Alison B., Joanne McG., Tom B. and Daniel J.) and 5th (Eimear O'B., Emily G., Kate M., Shay O'G.) out of the 31 teams from all regions across Ireland. This is a magnificent result and the best our club has ever done at the Robbie Bailey competition. Well done to all involved - we are so proud of you!
Grove ODE
Congratulations to Jill O'G. who won the Junior B competition at the ODE in Grove and to Kirsty C. who came 2nd in the Junior D competition as well as to her sister Sarah C. who came 3rd in the Junior C competition in her 2nd Junior ODE ever. She is now also qualified for the IPC ODE championships. Well done also to Mary S. who came 3rd in the U12 B competition and to Lucy O'G. who placed 4th in the same competition. Great job girls!
Area 3 Qualifier
The area qualifier went exceptionally well with two of our Robbie Bailey teams qualifying for the IPC finals. Normally only the first three teams from each Area Qualifier go on to the IPC Championships. The other two Robbie Bailey teams and one of our two John Ledingham teams very nearly qualified and were only beaten by a fraction. In the case of the John Ledingham team that was only one second, having equal penalties as the team in front of them. Very well done to all who participated and also to Sarah B. came 5th in the Junior Combined Training.
Kilguilkey House ODE
Kirsty C. amazingly managed to win the Junior A and Junior B competitions on two different ponies. Her sister Sarah C. came 5th in the Junior C competition, which was her first Junior competition ever since Sarah is still U12. Aine F. came 2nd and Karynn C. 6th in the U12 A competition. Aine's sister Sinead F. came 3rd in the U12 B competition. Well done to everyone!
Killinick ODE
Well done to Jill O'G. who came 5th in her Junior competition at the ODE in Killinick.

Our girls' team of Sarah C., Sinead F., Jennifer H. and Lucy O'G. came an excellent 8th with Sinead coming joint 1st in the running and Jennifer coming 4th overall in the running. Lucy - who had been sick the day before - made a particularly great effort to compete. Our other girls' team came 31st, which is also a good result with the large number of teams this year. Everyone had a great time and did the club proud. Well done all!
