Please see the
Irish Pony Club Show Jumping Page for general information on show jumping.

Rallies
Show jumping training is an integral part of most of our rallies. So if you book in for a rally you can normally expect some show jumping training. Rallies that do not conatain any show jumping training are usually specially named, e.g. 'Flat work rally'.

Show Jumping Team Training
We also do special training sessions to prepare our teams for the Robbie Bailey and John Ledingham competitions. These teams compete at the Area 3 qualifier and if successful go on to the national IPC championships. In 2006 our team won the national John Ledingham competition.

Show Jumping Competitions
We occasionally hold club show jumping competitions for various age groups. In early 2009 our IPC Area 3 is holding a show jumping league with legs in each club in the area and a final with double points. There are also the Robbie Bailey (junior, i.e. U14) and John Ledingham competitions as mentioned above. For more advanced members the IPC also offers the Show Jumping Classics and other national competitions.

A lot of our members also compete in the Ballyrafter Centre show jumping leagues in Lismore. While this is not a pony club activity and thus your IPC insurance does not cover you, it is a highly recommended activity since you learn how to jump courses competitively. We are very lucky to have the Ballyrafter Centre at our doorsteps.

Of course many of our members also ride gymkhanas all summer to gain some more show jumping experience.
